The Holden Monaro is a big rear-wheel drive coupé built by Holden in Australia between 1968 and 1971 (first generation), between 1971 and 1977 (second generation) and again between 2001 and 2006 (third generation).
In 2001 the Series I of the third generation Holden Monaro was offered as CV6 with a 171 kW 3.8 litre V6 engine or as CV8 with a 225 kW 5.7 litre V8 engine. In 2003 the Series II was offered as CV6 with a 171 kW 3.8 litre V6 engine or as CV8 with a 235 kW 5.7 litre V8 engine. In 2004 the Series III was offered only as CV8 with a 245 kW 5.7 litre V8 engine.
The 2003 Holden Monaro CV8 was used as technical base for the Bitter CD2 prototype.
